WDEL 1150 AM: Biden wants extra $1M to fight child abuse
Attorney General Beau Biden seeks an extra one-million dollars for the Department of Justice Fiscal Year 2013 budget.
He wants 60-thousand-dollars for the Stewards of Children program that will train 10-thousand adults to recognize the signs of child abuse so they can report it.
Biden says his office needs more than 635-thousand-dollars to replace old computers, hire a forensic accountant and maintain two social workers, who were previously paid for by federal grants.
If approved, the funding would also be put towards extradition and expert witness fees.
