Standing up to bullies

Beau has never liked bullies, and as Attorney General, he has led the fight against bullies who prey on the most vulnerable among us.

He has spoken to more than 22,000 Delaware school children about the dangers of online bullying. His Internet Safety presentations also teach kids how to avoid predators lurking online seeking to harm them. Social networking sites have taken bullying from simple teasing on a playground to online attacks that can stay on the Internet forever.

Bullying has been in the news a lot lately for tragic reasons. Earlier this year, a high school student in Massachusetts committed suicide after she was relentlessly bullied, and in September, a college student jumped to his death off of New York City’s George Washington Bridge after he was bulled online.

The Cape Gazette recently wrote about bullying and Beau’s visit to Cape Henlopen High School, where Beau congratulated the school on having 650 students sign an anti-bullying pledge.
