Our kids aren't yet old enough to use the Internet, but we talk to parents every day who are worried about what their children are doing -- and who might be targeting them -- in cyberspace.

Beau helps announce new trail

Yesterday, Beau joined representatives from DNREC, Delaware Greenways, and other elected officials and environmental advocates at a press conference announcing a project to complete a trail at Alapocas Run State Park in Wilmington. “One of the best things about living in Delaware is that we are blessed with wonderful natural resources, including beautiful parks and trails that my family - like your families and so many others -- frequently enjoy.”

Wilmington man charged with double-billing

Yesterday, Beau's office announced the arrest of a Wilmington man for double-billing the State of Delaware for more than $25,000. Protecting taxpayers by punishing vendors who seek to defraud our government is a priority for Beau -- he and the Department of Justice will continue to prosecute those who seek to swindle our communities.

Habitual offender sentenced to life in prison

Attorney General Beau Biden announced today that one of his prosecutors secured a life sentence against a Dover man who has been arrested more than 70 times and charged with over 100 criminal offenses. “Career criminals do not belong in our communities, they belong behind bars where they cannot be a threat to public safety,” Beau said.

Philadelphia woman sentenced to prison for ID theft

Yesterday, a Philadelphia woman who pleaded guilty to charges of identity theft earlier this month was sentenced to a year in prison. Courtney Henry, 28, entered a guilty plea in Superior Court on August 11 following her December arrest for trying to withdraw over $7,000 from the victim’s checking account. Punishing thieves who steal the identities of Delawareans -- and helping victims recover -- was one of Beau's top priorities when he ran for Attorney General in 2006, and he has followed through over the past four years.

The News Journal – Wilmington man pleads guilty in slaying of 23-year-old woman

A Wilmington man pleaded guilty this morning to fatally stabbing a 23-year-old woman last year in her first-floor apartment in the city's Triangle neighborhood.

Pernell Stroman, 24, pleaded guilty to the first-degree murder of Julie Gricol, the state Attorney General’s Office said. Stroman also pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary and a weapons charge.

Cape Gazette: New federal financial reform law will help Delaware protect investors

Attorney General Beau Biden said his office gained new powers to better protect Delaware investors under the federal financial reform legislation President Barack Obama signed into law July 21.

“These important reforms direct significant new federal resources to protect consumers’ interests and give states new authority to enforce consumer financial protections,” Biden said.

AG Secures Indictment in Fraud Case
