Remembering Hazel: Remarks on Martin Luther King Day
Hazel Plant understood that dreams and causes are like children: we don’t abandon them when they are challenging. We don’t abandon them when they protest. And we don’t abandon them when they’re down, or needy, or even when they’re broken into pieces. Because this is when our causes need us most and, in their need,…
Beau Biden Elected to Lead Democratic Attorneys General
WASHINGTON, DC – Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden was selected by his colleagues Thursday to chair the Democratic Attorneys General Association.
“It is an honor to be selected to lead a group of my peers,” Biden said. “Serving as DAGAs chairman will give me the opportunity to make sure the most effective tactics, tools, and weapons are being used to wipe out the scourge of child predators all across the country. I look forward to working with my colleagues around the country to develop new ways to fight crime and do even more to protect the most vulnerable among us.”
A Note from Beau on Veterans Day
Dear Friend,
As our nation pauses today to commemorate all those who have served, I’d like to make a small but significant request of you.
I learned many things from our brave men and women in the military. Above all else, I saw the effect that one person’s deployment has on the rest of a family. Our veterans volunteered to serve their country; their family members sacrificed to make that service possible. The families often endure serious hardships while a loved one is overseas: as big as job loss or health problems, as small as missed soccer games or dance recitals. They all take a toll on the families back home.
Thank You.
Last night was a special one for our state, and my family, because of your hard work and support. Hallie and I cannot thank you enough for your help, yesterday and all year long.
Serving as Attorney General for the past four years has been an honor and a privilege, and I am grateful that so many Delawareans have put their faith and trust in me for a second term.

Keeping kids safe online
My husband Beau always says that his job is to stand up for those who need it most.
That’s why protecting kids is so important to him — and, these days, that means helping to keep them safe online.
Our kids aren’t yet old enough to use the Internet, but we talk to parents every day who are worried about what their children are doing — and who might be targeting them — in cyberspace.
Beau helps announce new trail
Yesterday, Beau joined representatives from DNREC, Delaware Greenways, and other elected officials and environmental advocates at a press conference announcing a project to complete a trail at Alapocas Run State Park in Wilmington. “One of the best things about living in Delaware is that we are blessed with wonderful natural resources, including beautiful parks and trails that my family – like your families and so many others — frequently enjoy.”
